Diaoyu Islands vs. Outer Manchuria

Fanatic Chinese "patriots" have beefed up their effort to regain the control of the disputed the Diayu Islands (aka  Senkaku Islands) recently. Ironically, they completely ignore Outer Manchuria that is more than 100,000 times larger than the Diayu Islands, and was taken by Russia with unfair treaties.  If these "patriots" are truly patriotic, they should protest in front of Russian embassies and fight Russians first.

Diaoyu Islands

Outer Manchuria

Area: 7 km2.

The islands were discovered by Chinese in the 15th century, but have never been inhabited by China.

Japan took control of the islands in 1895, started inhabit them in 1900, but deserted them in 1940. The US took over the islands after WWII, and gave it back to Japan in 1972.

Area: ≈ 1,000,000 km2

China ceded Outer Manchuria with two treaties forced upon China - the Treaty of Aigun in 1858 and the Treaty of Peking in 1860. In 2001, the CCP regime under the leadership of Jiang Zemin, a former Russian-trained engineer, signed the Sino-Russian Treaty of Friendship reaffirming the ceding of Outer Manchuria.
