Punta Cana is the most tourists place, so it has the most flights, making the flights there the most inexpensive one.

Manchester-Boston Regional Airport is the best airport and has a reasonable parking rate at $15/day. A round trip to DR costs less than $600.

Uber in Punta Cana is not cheap and has a poor reputation, so don't rely on Uber for frequent, casual transportation means. 

Bavaro is a nice area in Punta Cana that allows cultural immersion. The best bus station for traveling to Santo Domingo - APTPRA friusa Bávaro Punta Cana-Santo Domingo - in in Bavaro. It is good to be near the bus station.  Hotel El Imperio Punta Cana in Bavaro has an excellent reputation.
