How can you be sure that food imported from China is safe?

There is virtually no way. People in Mainland China may have some idea about a few brands are relatively safe.

Besides grains and ingredients grown from toxic soil,  there are plenty of greedy businessmen using toxic or polluted industrial or sewage materials to make food.  Yes, sewage materials!   If you have not heard of it, search "*sewage grease in Chinese food*" online next time when you consider purchasing Chinese food or eating out at a Chinese restaurant that may use plenty of ingredients imported from China. 

If you happen to like oriental food, there are alternatives to food imported from China. Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea, Japan and other countries with much better food safety records offer a lot of choices. 

Remember, in China under the most corrupt regime in human history, almost any inspection can be obtained with money properly channeled to the inspecting agencies' officials.
