Import Just2Trade data to Quicken

Quicken cannot import data from Just2Trade directly.   Just2Trade can export transaction data to an Excel file.  Fortunately,  a nice tool ImportQIF can help import data from an Excel file to Quicken.  Excel files exported by Just2Trade need the followin cleaning before ImportQIF can use them:

  1. Remove all settlement dates.  They mess up security names.
  2. For DIVIDEND PAYMENT rows, remove the data in  Qty, Price and Comm
  3. Add an action name (e.g. negative rebate) to STKLNFEE rows.  They are negative rebate fees (i.e. hard to borrow fees). They should be mapped expenses.

Excel add-in ExcelAddInJust2TradeClean can do the cleaning by one click (ADD-INS > Clean).

When setting up an account in ImportQIF, select "Investment" and the option "Add Map Data" (at the bottom left), then select "Yes" for "Prompt For All Investment Actions" under "Options".

If one has only half a dozen transactions (e.g. dividends, sold/bought shares), it may be easier and quicker to enter them manually.  This allow precise control of the transactions.
