Extreme energy conservation

Heating can be completely stopped by middle April in Easter Massachusetts reducing a two-floor home's electricity bill to less than $70 (< 500 KWH) in April through September.  This requires good insulation, smart management of energy-efficient windows, skylights to allow radiation during the day and prevent radiation out at night.

For example:

2019:

The heating was turned off on April 9. 

Air conditioning was used for only 3 hot days for the entire summer. 

The heating was turned on in late October.

2020

The heating was turned off in late April.

Air conditioning was used for no more than 10 days during the entire summer.

The heating was turned on October 26.
